Hi! Let’s see where do I start? I have been a writer for six years and a reader for many. I grew up loving to read. I read tons of comic books like Betty and Veronica. I still remember some of my favorite books, a book on the Revolution from my Grampy, the Trixie Belden mystery series, a book on running called “Zanboomer” that started my lifelong love of the sport, a book about Clara Barton that inspired me to become a nurse, and a book called “Little Rhode” that I read as a kid on a trip to Maine with my Mom and Nana. I also loved Jane Austen, Louisa May Alcott, George Elliot, and the dazzling Barbara Cartland.  I can still see her picture on the back covers epitomizing glamour with her bejeweled gowns and boas. She could inspire anyone to want to be a writer!

I loved literature and writing in school.  A friend of mine and I would read ahead and once got so far that we had no clue where we were supposed to be when the teacher called on us. That of course lead to us being assigned to read the incredible “Dr Zhivago” and doing a lengthy book report on it, but didn’t dissuade us. In college I penned a short paper about my Nana. A few years later I entered a writing contest and received my first payment, a whopping fifty dollars!

On another note, I am a nurse. I have always been drawn to help people who need it the most. Because of that, I have worked in emergency room, intensive care and oncology. I have been touched by so many patients and their families. I think people are so strong and brave and absolutely amazing. They truly inspire me.
